Opticron Binoculars & Telescopes

75868 NA140SSf

Discontinued January 2014

NA140SSf
Includes dovetail plate (not shown).

Astronomers looking for large aperture refractors can be satisfied that the 140mm NA140SSf delivers superb views of the night sky with its 400x light gathering power.

This refractor has a fast focal ratio of f5.7. Deep sky objects are easily visible and astro-imagers looking for a fast instrument will be impressed with the NA140’s performance.

The advanced 4-element objective lens, set in two groups, minimises residual chromatic aberrations. With its Petzval-like correcting lens at the rear, this neo-achromatic telescope is specifically designed to provide improved colour and a flat field, making it well-suited to astrophotography.

The tube weighs under 7kg and has a focal length of 800mm. There’s a built-in dew shield and Vixen’s dual speed focuser is supplied as standard together with tube rings and dovetail mounting plate.

The 60mm visual back can accept either an optional extension tube or diagonal to accommodate 50.8mm (2”) eyepieces.

An optional metal carry handle can be attached to the tube rings.
